If you graduated from a top 200 university outside the Netherlands, you may need to prove English proficiency. This typically requires a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or an equivalent certification.

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree, or a scientific research appointment. The degree must be from a Dutch institution, an Erasmus Mundus program, or a top 200 global university.

Applicants must not pose a risk to public order or national security in the Netherlands. This is a general requirement for all Dutch immigration applications.

Depending on your country of origin, you may be required to undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of the application process. This must be completed upon arrival in the Netherlands.

You must maintain adequate health insurance while in the Netherlands. If you are not yet working, you must hold private or expat health insurance until you secure employment and qualify for Dutch basic health insurance.

You must provide a valid passport or travel document, along with your diploma or a graduation statement from your university. Documents not in Dutch, English, German, or French must be translated and legalized.

You must apply for the Orientation Year visa within three years of completing your eligible studies or research project. The visa can only be applied for once per completed degree or research period.
